It’s that time again to re-invent this years Art For Health show! Do you believe in super heroes? You should because they are walking among us in various forms. This year, we are lifting up the unsung heroes who make a difference everyday. Here is the new identity which we will be flushing out.
Every year I brand this amazing event which raises cash to send Doctors and Artists to Haiti and D.R. It's always a fun project because I try to develop a whole new identity for each year. This being the 6th one, I went with a very typographic logo which has a feel of a neon art sign. The poster still uses the logo but has icons connected to it which symbolize what the event is all about. It will be a 3 color 18"x24"silkscreen poster printed on Pop-Tone Black Licorice French Paper! Here is the design from last year so you can see how the look changes from each year.
And the winner is… Our client Sagent Pharmaceuticals was honored with a prestigious “Chicago Innovative Award” for their Heparin packaging. It’s amazing how many people lose lives each year because they receive the wrong medication. We designed a labeling system which differentiates itself from the rest and is easily recognizable in any situation.
Designing packaging for products which can make a difference in people’s life and death situations is a great honor for us. We hope this is just the beginning of companies trying to prevent medical errors from happening within the medical world. You can see some other medical packaging we designed for Sagent Pharmaceuticals here.
This years Art for Haiti II was an amazing event which raised 32k to help the Global Health Fund at Rush University Medical Center. They send medical teams over to Haiti and the Dominican Republic and many orphanages in Haiti. We are very proud to be part of such a great event. Thanks again to everyone who came out to support our cause. Check out the branding and design work we created for the event.
I got an opportunity to speak about design to kids who are interested in pursuing this field. It was great to meet them and talk shop for a while. Mercy Home is an amazing place which helps out many children and I was honored to be part of heir career day.
After my trip over to Haiti, I felt inspired to collaborate with some great people and write this song. Helping me out is, John Prachar, Karel Hudecek, Xavier Nuez and Brian Wetzstein.
The benefit was a great turn around! 400 wonderful people showed up, we raised $30,000 and 90% of all artwork sold out. We would say not bad for the first one! If you missed it, we are planning another one next year! Thank you all for your support and generosity! We will be updating our website soon with some materials we’ve designed for the benefit, so stay tuned! Meanwhile, check out the pictures below and go to Art for Haiti facebook page for more pictures and updates.
